North Fork Art Collective - Immersive Group Exhibition at Borghese Vineyard Cutchogue

I am excited to be part of this dynamic group exhibition of works from members of the North Fork Art Collective, curated by Kara Hoblin.   The work I will be showing is a large triptych of computer-assisted paintings on linen (pictured above) entitled “623 Variations”.  This work was featured in the WIRED article “If Picasso had a MacBook Pro”. The paintings combine loose gestural brushwork with intricate wireframe forms.

The title of these works has a story behind it – our daughter Aya was born in 2014 at 6:23 PM on 6/23, so “623” is a very significant number. I was also born on the 23rd day of the month, on December 23, putting our birthdays exactly 6 months apart.  I often incorporate significant numbers in my work by using them when I apply mathematical transformations within the software I use to compose many of my abstract forms.  This numerological part of my process is incorporated into these works, which were created the year Aya was born.

This triptych is available for viewing and purchase at Castello di Borghese Vineyard through North Fork Art Collective for the duration of the exhibition, with a percentage of all sales to benefits the Collective.
